I use them (as English is not my native language) and I can assure you that subtitles help the huge amount of non-English speakers who want to enjoy their game. Aaaargh, nothing annoys me more than to notice I forgot to turn the subtitles on and I miss some important detail in the cutscene.

Exactly. Absolutely loved it's gameplay. I will probably be burned on the stake for this...but I enjoyed it, for that simple reason, more than I did the last Metroid Prime.
