If you’re still using Twitter: the fuck?

I remember hearing someone saying years ago “Nothing good happens at 2:30 in the morning.”

I’m a holdover from the original Blog days. All the stuff you are saying sounds amazing. Kind of funny how good content is the new web-whatever-we-are-now-number...basic blogs, cut the crap, you will gain a solid community. We need good writers, not ad executives running the site and it sounds like this is a step in

Easy solution. External microphones with logic that recognises the patterns for legitimate emergency services sirens and replays them from the car speakers. Any car premium enough to have a cabin that quiet should have a stereo with enough channels to recreate the direction. As an extra queue flash a big ass warning

There are also the drivers (not all of course, but too many unfortunately) who are just jerks and have no respect for emergency vehicles or the people those emergency vehicles are trying to reach in time to do some good. I was driving a cop car once, a long time before cars were as quiet as they are now. Came up

It’s pretty hard to make sure that the users don’t redistribute a digital version of something, even with strong DRM. I don’t see digital libraries ever existing until they solve that issue.

I think I gotta side with publishers here. Brick and mortar libraries actually purchase their books from wholesalers. I am not seeing a lot that says the books “distributed” by the Internet Archive are actually ever paid for.

I could very well be wrong. If the II does indeed purchase books in some form, it wasn’t

The most savage is using that and then cc’ing a bunch of other people who were not on the original email.

I’m pretty sure the most savage way to start an email is “Per my last email...”

Fantastic write up!

Awesome read. I knew most of the high level stuff from Electronic Gaming Monthly from back in the day.  However, it was very interesting to read all the personal anecdotes about the business dealings in the background.  This was really enjoyable to me.

This is an amazing article. This is FASCINATING. I’m not just saying that because I was a SEGA kid in the 90's, which included lots of arcade time with Daytona, VF & SCUD GT.

Google and Meta should just pull the links and news articles from their sites, and let news sites come with their begging bowl when site numbers to their ad invested sites drops like a stone

The pathogen can cause deadly infections, but “it does not cause people to turn into zombies,”

Article makes assumptions that those ratings are not backed by evidence. I downvoted a driver that threw a hard drive at my door as I caught it on camera. There was another one that dropped and kicked the package to my door. Both were brown and black, but as a brown person, I’m not going to give a pass to crappy

Fucking Florida...

Rolling out a brand new technology before the proper risk assessments have been done has never happened before, ever.

In my region, it’s high speeds and no seatbelts.

Everyone, put down your phones and watch the road. Drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, fucking horseback riders, I have seen all of these on their phones and swerving all over the road just in the last few months. That is my road safety PSA.
