There’s no non-creepy reason for a person of average mental capacity to find a person’s profound cognitive disability sexually attractive. Just as there’s no non-creepy reason for an adult to find children sexually attractive.

Well, stalkers sincerely believe they’re in love with their victims. It doesn’t make them any less dangerous or likely to recidivate.

Except the vast majority of the commenters are condemning her, and not one single person has said that she should be let off easy because her victim was male? You’re the only person here trying to make it about that. Go back to your bridge, troll.

Come on. There is no way this woman actually believed that she was communicating with him. She fabricated her perfect man and projected it onto a nonverbal man with the mind of a child.

She says that, sure.

That doesn’t mean she shouldn’t, it means they should.

Resentful Child Syndrome suggests irrational resentment of a perfectly good parent.

Could be that your sister had a different experience with that parent than you did. Certainly true for me and my siblings. Only one of us was abused.

And they’re all talking about how they want to find a younger woman who is ready to make babies even though the problem is that they didn’t start sooner and they won’t accept an equal partner.

Uh, no, she’s talking about the problem with the attitudes these men are voicing, ands he’s made a decision to not date them. That’s pointing out the blame they should accept in their own problems.

Because the dad told him about the emergency.

Maybe you should stop harassing someone for being a rape victim.

But you don’t actually lose sleep over it, and nobody is really asking you to. The point isn’t to make people feel bad, it’s to get people to change their behavior and be more understanding. Nobody is really asking people to never ever fuck up. They’re asking people to listen and learn. Jez is writing about Ricky

Yes, and I’m still correct, because Chelsea Manning was identifying as a woman long before her arrest.

I don’t know what that’s intended to mean.

Except that she isn’t getting any, and she’s actually being treated in a uniquely shitty manner. So... what is your point, exactly? How do you think you’re supporting it? Because all you’ve proven, right now, is that it wouldn’t work even if people tried it.

I don’t think anyone’s really saying that getting mixed up or confused makes you a transphobe, but intentionally deadnaming a trans person is a horse of a different color. You’re not acknowledging that her current status is her reality.

Oh, good. The objective moral authority is here.

There’s a huge difference between doing something on accident and doing it deliberately. If we’re out on the green together and accidentally hit you with a golf club, it still hurts you, but it’s not assault. If I intentionally smack you with a golf club, that’s a felony.

If you’re not trans, you don’t get to decide what is and isn’t deadnaming.
