Just as a minor note, the game does actually teach you that you can cancel throws. I distinctly remember seeing the pop-up and thinking “I will make note of that.”

I think I might also have to go with Cyndaquil mainly because it was my first ever Pokémon starter. Nostalgia!
As if a Pokemon game is ever going to go on sale
I would also add into the Clueless Hero equation: is it on sale?
True story: I was on an organized trip to a ski town a couple of years ago through the college I was attending at the time, and the bus left the school at roughly 5:30 in the morning. For some godforsaken reason, they showed We’re the Millers on the TV screens in the bus shortly after departure. Absolutely the worst…
I can second Stranger and Kingdom. The first season of the former was so strong that it made me disappointed by other K-dramas.
There was a certain...NSFW video of Ankha from Animal Crossing that made the rounds recently.
Well this already looked cool but now you’ve sold me on it!
The characterizations of Kraven and Galactus in Squirrel Girl are unimpeachable
I wish I could give you far more than one star for this
Magma slug, doo doo doodoodoo, magma slug, doo doo doodoodoo...
I’m amazed that the Pokemon Company put out so much new Bidoof merch, expecting people would buy it*.
I don’t personally think Galvantula is that cute but Joltik is objectively adorable
I’d also highly recommend The Kirlian Frequency. Kind of like an animated version of Welcome to Nightvale without all the pretension.
Now I await the introduction of Spiders-Man.
What also annoys me in an entirely different way: given the palindromic Pokemon names that exist like Alomomola and Girafarig, Impidimp feels like it should be one too but IS NOT.
I’m a court reporter and this transcript is kind of baffling to read even for me.
If you’re interested in the inner workings of the show, there’s a really great book on it called Answers in the Form of Questions by Claire McNear. Very fun and very informative.
Whiscash was a casualty of bad timing when it was featured in the anime, because an episode featuring it was supposed to air like a week or two after Japan was hit by a pretty bad earthquake.
Every so often my girlfriend and I lament the death of this show. As an MLB fan I loved the attention to detail, and I thought it was a very progressive show beyond the central conceit. The episode where Ginny’s ex was going to share pictures of her “going wild” and the entire team backed her was amazing.
