LA and MS are usually at or near the bottom of everything you can measure.

If your schools unionize, the opposite comes true. Everyone gets a raise but they still complain all the time that they need more money.

I wasn’t alive back then to know what it was like, but I know that white flight is a real thing. Once whites leave, the taxes to fund the schools drop and schools suffer.

Oh, you poor man! You’re going to get the most furious comments thrown at you from these people!

That’s a shock to me as well. Do all white kids go to private schools or do white people all live in the ‘burbs? Those numbers don’t make much intuitive sense to me.

i read this thread from beginning to end (scanned mostly but got the gist of it) and the OP wrote you had two cases where a court directly awarded fees to the lawyers that asked for them.

I understand your arguments here, and will accept your word that this is all legal/moral/ethical and so on.

Well, it’s good you’re researching things after you’ve written them.

I’m not sure why people like yourself wonder why people debate with someone then proceed to debate with that same person.

Making a kid wear a band identifying him as trans is probably encouraged in Wisconsin!

Lawyers make the laws, interpret them, and then enforce them. Of course they’ll win!

This case isn’t going to the Supreme Court.

“That doesn’t necessarily mean the lawyers didn’t charge their clients, dumbass. It means the plaintiffs were awarded attorneys’ fees. That the plaintiffs got attorneys’ fees awarded has nothing to do with the payment arrangements between the plaintiffs and their lawyers.”

BURN! Ouch.

In a case like yours, is there some kind of dividing line or rule about how much fees can be charged in connection with the value of the case?

That sounds suspiciously like a fox guarding the hen house situation.

So what you’re saying is rather than force the issue and litigate it through the courts, you’d rather put your thumb up your ass and hope it all works out?

Show me where he swore to the affidavit’s accuracy.

Read the US Constitution and let us all know how Article II requires anything beyond obtaining the “advise and consent” of the Senate.

Isn’t Moore’s argument that the yearbook autograph is a forgery? If so, this woman can come forward with a ton of things she says he signed and he’ll just say they’re all forgeries.
