Maybe throwing in a few for children who are indifferent to tricycles - after all, he was only the second on the list.

That does open up the character and gives a lot of poignancy to Ripley. I wonder why they took it out though - and if maybe they didn't want that level of pathos in a summer action flick.
I think it's more of a numbers game. There's just numerically more male action heroes so some of them are motivated by family and some of them by other reason and it seems more even-keeled. There are so few women action heroes that giving them the protective role might feel like that's all there is to it.
Reminds me of the bible quote "my name is legion for we are many". There's the notion that you thought you were winning over one guy and suddenly realise you're surrounded.
I don't really even see how something could be just sci-fi and nothing else but sci-fi. The whole point of sci-fi is to examine issues or narratives in the existing world in a setting with advanced technology. So you could look at societal or moral issues as they are viewed in a setting with robots or…
I thought Newt was great but I know some people who thought her presence altogether was unnecessary in the film. So it's not about the performance as such, as much as a complaint about injecting children into action movies to make them seem more emotionally gripping. Also, I've read online sometimes people resent this…
OK, I'm sold. I love Doctor Who and the Vampire Diaries - ridiculousness is not a deal breaker but I do expect shenanigans!
I haven't seen LoT but I really enjoy Supergirl and Flash (not so much the Arrow), so would you recommend it? I mean, I know you said you like it but then there's the bit about being idiotic, so… worth it? Not worth it?
But will all the people in it still be really, really attractive?
Whilst I'm sure it was mostly in service of the plot, I think the idea was that she was able to reanimate any dead body and heal it of the mortal injury that killed it (otherwise, what's the point - it would just die again), but after that the body functions like a normal human.
I wasn't expecting so much action and big guns, but I guess the trailer served its purpose insofar as I'm actually pretty curious to see whether Cotillard is a spy or not. And, admittedly, also to see the pretty period clothes and the muted colour scheme.
I'm drawn between my love for time travel shows and my nausea-inducing boredom with serial killers. I'm tempted to give this one a chance on the basis that CW has managed to make shows with less saving graces work brilliantly. All I really want is a brisk pace with time entanglements that may or may not make sense…
They might be male nurses… (they're not)
I still default to Tony Stonem in Skins where Nicholas Hoult is concerned. As Beast, it didn't seem like he got to do much acting, as he was mainly just standing around and occasionally jumping around in blue fur. Will be interesting to see him in a role where he needs to get really deep inside the head of someone so…
Hmm, I reserve all judgement until I see the intensity of his smoulder.
I'm actually slightly more inclined to watch this after reading the review. Pilots are (almost) always messy but I'd rather give a chance to a show that is trying too hard or trying too many things, than to a show that isn't trying at all. Also, whether it settles on time travel hi-jinks or deep reflection, I'm good…
A poster designed to put people off the show. I much prefer this idea that it's about people constantly worrying about the next terrorist attack, the next school shooting, the next environmental disaster - and trying to find ways to cope with this undercurrent of low level tension through acts of heightened emotion…
Surely a man with such immaculate beard doesn't need an apocalypse to get laid?
It's both a book and a first in a series. If the issues of the first installment were fixed in the later entries then that's great and undoubtedly makes the series stronger. However, even if that happened, it doesn't make the book better or the problems in it any less. FWIW, I absolutely judge HP and the Philosopher's…
Eddy and Saffy from Absolutely Fabulous. So very cruel and so very funny at the same time.
