Excuse you, that’s “Big League”, as in serious, as in high class. Serious people, okay? Because phrases. The most tremendous, the greatest- believe me- sentence. Fragments. Look! over here A Lot. A lot of people. Smart people. African Americans. Hell. Inner cities: DISASTER, okay? Islamophobia? ISISssss *SNIFF* they

Makes sense, she can’t stay with someone for too long. Otherwise they start asking questions about how she never ages and needs permission to enter people’s homes.

It also makes me want to scream “TEACH MEN TO NOT BE SUCH FUCKWADS” I shouldn’t have to call the power of the sisterhood to get credit for my work. It makes me angry.

A GREAT POINT MADE BY MY COLLEAGUE STASSA and furthermore LET’S ALL LISTEN TO WHAT STASSA JUST SAID

As a housing discrimination attorney, I must concur. HOAs/condo boards are the worst. It’s a bunch of people who know nothing but think they know everything and want to control everyone around them. They also try to treat the community like their little fiefdom where the law doesn’t apply (except when it suits them).

People who live in Glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.

A roach. A leak. A lawsuit. And a banana peel. All this. And more. On the next. This. American Life.

One of mine died and the other was, like, “Nah, I’m done, thanks.” and didn’t have another relationship, date, or even try to have sex with another person, until they died.

It just occurred to me Bryan really doesn’t even need feminism - she could have achieved being an unmarried virgin centuries ago.

Well said. I was on board until it veered into slut-shamey territory.

She is living the life that feminists throughout history have fought for, because feminism should mean that a woman can live her life on her own terms. She’s living the feminist dream, of choosing when to marry, and when to have sex, even if that means never.

Very, very well put. I think it’s safe to say that there are almost no professions that have been the exclusive domain of men, regardless of what may have found its way into the history books.

Good. Let this serve as a reminder that women have always, always fought. Vikings had shield maidens and Shaka Zulu had his all-female body guard. Women dressed as men to join the fight. They take up arms and become rebels and guerillas. In Russia they become bombers and tankers and snipers. In feudal Japan they

I clicked OP's comment to post this suggestion, so I'll just echo it. Excellent book for parsing some of the broad trends in gender through the late 70s, 80s, early 90s.

Most of the documentary kind of blew my mind, but that part in particular. Why don't you want equal rights in the Constitution?!?

If you like that, you should read Backlash, which is basically a whole book on that topic, and still really interesting and relevant, in my opinion.

"One of the huge parts was how the Republican "family values" platform that we know today basically came about as a backlash to the women's equality movement."

OK, I watched the whole documentary, and I can I just say that, while the floppy bow shirt part was an interesting sidebar, there was waaay more interesting stuff we should be talking about from that show. One of the huge parts was how the Republican "family values" platform that we know today basically came about as

So what I'm taking away from this is that I need to start calling men's neckties, "Penis Knots."
