i was gonna suggest campbell’s bean and bacon, awesome. it may be childhood nostalgia, but it was the first thing my mom showed me how to make for myself, and i had my own little revere ware soup pot that perfectly held a can of bean soup heated on the stovetop so to me it just tastes like happy warm comfort on a cold

I usually make a bean and ham soup in the instant pot after we have a ham for the holidays that’s like a Campbell’s Bean with bacon on steroids. So good...

Also a good reason to rename the sandwich “Beef on Wreck” for the month.

“Is there an underlying problem that perhaps we have not given enough attention to? Is there another way to think about how we tackle ‘healthcare’ by addressing the root cause?

This is way better than the Butter Emails cam from a few years back.

Grind ends and pieces of bacon and add to hamburger (50/50), then grill a patty of the bacon burger.

Fried cabbage. Chop up bacon, fry, remove, caramelize onions in fat, toss in chopped cabbage, season, deglaze with a bit of cider vinegar, cover until cabbage is cooked, sprinkle with bacon. Enjoy.

The best birthday cake is a good pie.

Theoretically speaking, is a tea bag really all that much different from a french press? You let coffee grinds soak in hot water and then strain the grounds, either through a metal strainer or through removing the tea bag. Certainly there can be differences in what is strained out based on size of strainer/holes, etc

OK - to be clear, the bread is NOT FREE, it is included with the meal.

One of the best things to ever happen at my job was the company deciding having a full time on site HR person. Jobs still shit, but staffing shortages get filled much faster, turnover rate seems to have dropped a bit (for our shift at least), and theyre probably far better trained to placate the two drama queens with

Mmm, cevapi. That and sirnica were my favorite foods from visiting Bosnia. And yeah it’s hard to beat a good Illinois pork tenderloin sandwich.

Fried dough, and it is not interchangeable with funnel cake.  I am also a fan of fried pickles as long as they are coins, not planks or entire pickles.  There’s a breading to pickle ratio that must be honored.

Wonderful piece, Elena. I wish we didn’t need first person accounts to generate empathy, but whatever works! Including jarred garlic.

This was magnificent. Thank you.

Sierra and Maddy? Ah, so they both come from plenty of money then.

Well, a tasty beverage while soaking in a tub of any sort is something I (and I’m sure many others) can completely agree with, particularly champagne (a beverage which many people claim to appreciate yet so few really do, but that’s a major rant for another day).

I’m not into shower beer, but bath champagne? Hellll yes.

I only stay in hotel rooms with big soaking tubs these days.  Having a beer and a joint in the tub at night is awesome!

When I have visited Japan, I always book at least one stay in a Ryokan which often have a onsen in the room (at least the fancier ones all do). Imagine a huge soaker tub, big enough for 2+ people, that is being constantly refreshed with hot spring water.
