Thank you for getting it.
Thank you for getting it.
I get your concern. I think that in an era where lots of people are not religiously affiliated, this could be useful to some people. But I get the concern.
Also, can we add, “I can’t even imagine...?” Hate that one.
I hear you. For my earlier miscarriages, I didn’t need a certificate, but for the very late one, I would have loved formal acknowledgment because it was a much more developed pregnancy.
You don’t know anything about miscarriage, so let me explain a few things. Losing a wanted child is usually a devastating loss, a physical misery, and a completely silent tragedy (speaking only about wanted pregnancies here). Because of the insensitivity in our culture (you post is a good example, as is Jerry’s) most…
I think that being in the throes of an untreated sex addiction does make you a questionable choice for the role of primary parent. That sext was part of a larger pattern of out-of-control behavior.
It was only a couple of months ago that Ivanka’s US headquarters were advertising for a full-time, in-office, open-contract “intern” on their website, which is illegal. So should we be at all surprised that the factory can’t even obey Chinese labor laws?
Does this mean that Amy Schumer will start being smart-funny again and stop being sloppy-drunk-unfunny?
I would love to hear Gabby’s take on all this. If she said Mo’Nique was an asshole, that would be final word for me.
I know nothing about either of them but just based on the way Aretha styles herself for appearances like she’s going to Junior prom makes me think she has some real challenges on the grasping reality front.
Jesus, people. Give her a chance to evolve. The scales are coming off her eyes and I’m sure she will be a full on lib in about a year. She was living in a bubble of white privilege and wealth and at least she’s venturing outside that world and engaging. Save your outrage for everyone who’s still in the bubble.
That makes sense. But I wish it could happen. It would give kids a broader narrative in which to find their place and I think it would also do much to reduce the existing friction between the feminist movement and the transgender one.
p.s. By “horror show,” I was referring to the various procedures that would be required, not the result.
I know, I know. Berkeley is a target for alt-right hate groups, but I think Coulter should be able to speak to whatever idiots invited her via Skype or whatever virtual platform would ensure safety and free speech.
Can I ask your opinion on broadening our view of gender to include the “third (or forth or fifth) sex” as you see with Hijra people in India? Do you think the binary system makes sense to you personally?
What a great point.
I don’t think we’re on opposite sides of this issue, so I don’t want to split hairs on it. I’d say that for a white woman to convincingly pass as unquestionably black is not just a matter of spray tans and braids. I’d guess that a lot of people in Dolezal’s world probably weren’t buying it, but I see your point that…
This is the reality of protecting civil liberties. You have to protect all of them, even those of asshole racist skeletrons.
Then they should do a virtual speech via Skype or somesuch. Hate Coulter, but hate seeing college Republicans silenced because it only feeds their narrative of liberal bias, etc.
This sucks. I hate Ann Coulter, but I also hate how universities have become parodies of themselves as gated communities for liberals.
