Gizmodo doesn't run a VPN server back at HQ? It should. I just got back from China and going through the vpn was much much more reliable than the firewall. I think the firewall does all sorts of real-time monitoring so the pings were terrible sometimes. The latency added by the vpn overall was better than dealing with…

@ri59: iPhone 4 and of course, the battery life is based on how much as I use it. I'm a pretty heavy user, mainly apps and not calls, and it's at least doubled life.

@lsocoee: You can mark it if certain apps are running to not swap to edge. So, if I'm running pandora, it never goes to 2g.

Auto-3g is amazing. It automatically switches your phone to edge when it's locked and back to 3g after you unlock it. My battery life has easily doubled.
