Kurt Vonnegut was a combat infantryman with the U.S. Army during WWII and served in the European theater of war (including being captured during the Battle of the Bulge), but somehow managed to love the military quite a bit less than Heinlein. You could say the same about a lot of authors with military backgrounds.

When they weren’t leaning towards socialism (Tunnel In The Sky) or libertarianism (The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress, The Cat Who Walks Through Walls) or authoritarian theocracy (Stranger in a Strange Land, and at least one other I can’t recall right now.) Or corporate oligarchy (Friday.)

Less “advocation” than “investigation” or “exploration.”

Calling anyone whom dares question your ‘theory’ a moron is usually a very telling response of a disturbed individual with delusions of grandeur.

In an alternate universe, regardless of who is in the white house, there is little anyone can do to prevent it without being provocative. What is coming out of the hawks are nothing more but criticism, without offering any workable/realistic proposals. It is what it is and at the end of the day, it’s shit that is

He’s the worst. I liked him for about 10 minutes, then realized every column of his was:

I hope you weren’t trying to imply that the F-35 is intended to replace the F-22 because that is not correct.

I’d love to have a long debate with Trump about the F35. There are legitimate concerns about the program, but most of the Internet’s criticisms are overblown, par for the course for this sort of program, or false.

If the Chinese sank even one carrier with 5,000 sailors onboard then they would be destroyed militarily, say what you will about the US but if you kick us in the face and your a nation then we will not quit until you are deciamted. Their is no scenario when we are left without allies in the region while China

To put in perspective, yes China is a big trading partner but the Chinese would be hurt more if there was a cessation to trade. The US was humming along fine before China became a big player. It might hurt in the short term to the US but China would be devastated economically. They are not deep in the bullpen. Notice

Would you rather have the flight deck crew in full dress while performing their duties? Because that’s an active flight deck...

You can’t take out a Russian paratrooper with 6 weeks paid vacation.

And yet sadly, Japan beefing up their fleet is a necessary evil considering China’s aggressive stance towards the South-Chinese sea and the Senkaku islands. He’s not inventing a threat like G.W. Bush did in Iraq, his threat is quite real and right across the sea from his country.

“the Japanese public wants nothing to do with Abe’s delusions of military grandeur.”

Rusty, (sad trombone).

The Russian sock puppet comments on this one are going to be great.

Build more F22’s? Apparently someone thinks we have plenty if they’re handing them out to the f#cking Hawaiian Air National Guard....
