Wow, that’s awesome. I bet that car positively glows now. Probably easier to remove panels on a Le Mans racer than we expect, though.

Yeah, and the weird thing is, that plane is still flying around today. https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N9…

1996, Delta 1288. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta_Air…
Yeah, I got to see him win his first Nationwide race out in Fontana, CA a few years back. I remember his nice demeanor afterwords; I’m so glad to see he’s doing well. I think I’m going to have to pick up some merch for him, seeing as my favorite driver (Stewart) is retiring this year.
SO MUCH THIS. I was on the 101 dropping back into the Santa Barbara area, and I was overtaking a long string of cars cruising in the right lanes. No one was holding me up, and I was just overtaking cars and moving over as/when necessary. Car approaching from the rear; I move over a lane and look down at my speedometer…
We did that a couple of years ago; pretty awesome!
Let’s take your comments in reverse order. First things first, I find it hilariously ironic how you don’t want to be referred to as a “pussy,” but your username is Panther. Something’s off there. Second, of course you’ve never missed a shift; the computer is shifting for you, numb nuts. Corvettes aren’t the only cars…
Haha, well I’m already on the road again this year (Tour d’Elegance tomorrow!), but thanks for the tip. I really don’t want to look like Mr. Counting Cars! <shudder>
Yep. I commute on the 55 in SoCal, and there’s a point where the four already-full lanes of traffic are joined by three more, forming just 5 lanes. It absolutely stops every day, no matter what.
I don’t know; I liked her a lot on The Untitled Car Show podcast a while back.
Bosch, I suspect.
49/50 states for us! We almost always stayed in hotels on the really long trips (35 days, 7,000 miles from SoCal to Indiana via Mt. Rushmore, and back), but on closer trips (like the Grand Canyon) we camped in a 6 person tent.
Why does the Ferrari have the exact same alarm sound as my 2003 BMW 530i? Hmm...
I have to admit, I stole that from BenDeLaCreme, so... :)
Heh. >.>
I’ve been working on my bear call lately; want to hear it? <hack, cough, clears through> “Woof!”
Same here. Sometimes the simples vacations are the best. I spent months each summer traveling around the US (both my parents are teachers). We’ve done the entire country by car, except for Florida (flew there to meet my grandparents), Alaska (I want to drive the Al-Can someday), and Hawaii (for obvious reasons).
Ah, fair enough.
seh-at?
