I really hope Google isn’t tracking the location of every single Android phone in a car all the time... My favorite feature is on the desktop Maps; you can see “typical” traffic at any time of day with a little slider. Super helpful when you’re trying to plan a trip to an area you're not familiar with.

Google Maps is old school - it uses the reports of users of the app or Waze. It is not having to interpret the data being given to it in seconds.

Never worked on a modern vehicle, huh? There is a large metal beam behind that for crash protection that will connect directly to the subframe/unibody. Look at any modern car; they all have some sort of divided grill opening because of it. Remove the plastic and you’ll see the chassis.

Since the video has now gone private, does anyone have a copy of it?

Unfortunately ‘tis true.

Three things: Bailey wasn’t driving on public roads. The event was supposed to have high speeds. Reports indicate the left rear wheel separated from the car.

If you DIY them, though, they’re pretty inexpensive. Add in a $30 BMW scan tool and you can make the computers sing.

Yes, you will pay for damage, but the way iRacing handles some of its crash physics baffles me. I am still a subscriber, though!

I’m looking to put together a gaming computer for about $600. I already have a lot of the “essentials” (case and fans, power supply, thermal paste, peripherals, hard drives, etc), but obviously, the mother board, CPU, RAM, GPU are the biggest expenses. It looks like the AMD processors offer pretty good value for

Not a console gamer, at all. I owned a Wii in high school. It’s probably in my parent’s basement. I understand that a console provides a lot of access for relatively little cost, but you don’t get mods, or a ton of other cool racing games like iRacing or rFactor 2. On the other hand, I realize that I can’t get Forza

Factory my foot. I bet Ferrari sent a full service team, extra tires, and other crap that will make it win the lap time comparison... For a single lap. I’ll take the keys to the Porsche, please. (I wish)

I would buy this game in a hot minute if I had a computer powerful enough to run it... As it is, an 09 MacBook Pro can’t even touch it. :(

Very nice photograph! Nice to see someone having Dukes of Hazard fun in a modern muscle car.

Pictured: tough-ass roll cage.

That would make sense, too.

I remember Car Talk discussing this problem eons ago, basically coming to the conclusion that the plastics and fabrics in the car were just different enough to cause the scent after a while. My e39 smells like it, too.

It’s definitely not equivalent to Netflix in terms of how much content is available. No James Bond, Wayne, or Disney, but extensive PBS content. However, Prime Music is great! Offline downloads (non-transferrable, obv), with an excellent selection of music that I have yet to find lacking. The app has actually replaced

It’s a real euro car; check out the Metric gauges and european lower dashboard.

I just had an eargasm. Holy shit!

Wow, that sucks so hard. Best wishes to his widow.
