The scrolling only "locks" if I open a PDF page in a new background tab and it finished loading. It unlocks if I set the PDF page as the active tab and then switch back, though.

I think it'd be easier to just let it sit out for a while, or put your hand on the bottom of the cube you want - the heat should expand the metal enough for the cube to slide out.

I'd imagine that by adding a layer of clear water, you have melted the top of the soapy water, thus getting your clear water mildly soapy.
