I know the definition issue came up with Bill Clinton, but the original meaning of “high crimes” the Founders used didn’t mean extra bad crimes, but crimes specifically related to politicians and rulers. So, if Trump is coming from business, and not political office, I’m not sure how he could actually commit that

I think only illegal things he does while in office are impeachable. Furthermore, those crimes have to be related to “treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors”, which are specifically crimes related to abuse of office.

Yep. One of my favorite cassettes from 5th and 6th grade. I still have it and still sometimes listen to it. Maybe I should get it on mp3 before it dies...

Sure, it’s not called “The Problem with White People”, but I am shocked with how many fellow progressives think there is no issue here. Just like there is a difference between a course called “The Problem with Black People” and “The Problem with Blackness” but both are needlessly negative course titles for a course

Not just you. Whenever I see I picture of her with no/little makeup I am shocked how normal and pretty she is. With her caked on foundation and crazy eyebrows she just looks like uncanny valley between human and doll.

Yes, everything about Teneo gave me pause. I happily voted for HRC this time around, and I happily voted for Bill in my first presidential election. However, Bill is problematic, to use a word I hate..

It just freaks me out how easily it can happen. I have a Syrian friend and Filipino friends, and it is just insane thinking about it from their perspective. The bafflement and horror and helplessness. The US has been stable for so long, but it certainly isn’t immune.

I think it is a combination, but as someone who works on renewable energy policy, you are right. The fact that pipelines are meant to last for decades and require a huge upfront cost that companies are going to be unwilling to write off if something better comes along in ten years, is one big reason to oppose them.

The only possible reaction. Truly stunned.

I had it for two kids, and I can’t even remember it now. There are blood screening tests in the first trimester that can get you preliminary info, then you can also get a CVS (early second) or amnio (slightly later). The problem with the amnio is that there is a very small risk of miscarriage, so there is a real

It just seems like some of that is going to backfire too. You have uncertain, but worrying information from the 18-week scan, and you may have some people trying to abort now because they won’t have that option later.

Now I am feeling nostalgic. I used to go there all the time with my post-college roommates back in the day.

Clearly there are people in the comments that think she was actually raped on screen, so the clarification is good. Not an excuse for the actual assault and humiliation.

He has lived in housing and is “urban”. Sounds good enough to me!

True, but Protestant theology is that it is a metaphor.

Good lord. Stay safe. The Latern on Twitter seems to have the most info.

Though the two issues are neither related nor causal....

Well Conway and Trump have already been bitching about Clinton participating in the recount after he was so magnanimous about deciding not to jail her after all.

It says they spent 30 minutes looks for an employee, not looking for the cheese. I imagine they got a little freaked out and perplexed that everyone had disappeared. I would have run the hell out of there myself.

I wish the linked story provided a little more detail. Is the sexual assault part akin to statutory rape? It says pardoning men convicted of sexual assault who later marry victims, but then says the law is targeted towards men who are in jail for marrying girls under 18. I’m not arguing here about what constitutes
