Faraday Future/Pence 2020!
“And the shapes this process allows are extraordinary. They look completely organic. Making a part like the suspension assemblies with traditional means would require some kind of master technician milling out gigantic block of metal by hand.”
i think we’re finally getting to a point where we can all say “why the fuck do supercars need to get any faster?!?”
All the glued-on wood veneer in the world won’t matter until they toss the TV set and equip the car with a proper interface that isn’t an ergonomic catastrophe.
So you have a sports car you’re afraid to redline? That’s like hypermiling a Ferrari.
lets get him a chassis dyno, piss those hags off even more
AVE is the most skookum channel on YouTube.
Agree. Every Harris video is the same. He’s a great wheel man and good on camera, but IDGAF about sliding a $500K car; I just don’t.
“dynamic forced-induction effect,”
I hate to be that pedantic dock, but want to make sure that Bauer Ltd gets credit for the car. Flying Mata builds some, but the car is designed and manufactured by Bauer from what I understand:
It’s not like he’s coming over a bluff or around a blind corner. It’s flat, open space on a clear day. He wasn’t looking where he should have. Regardless of skill, he was going too fast for a street full of traffic with bystanders on the curb.
Wow. Magnus was being a fucking idiot with that.
Asshat Porsche driver and dreadlock haver Magnus Walker finally runs out of talent, thankfully nobody is hurt. More at 11.
No, it’s not. It’s a small formula car. I have a small Formula car and to people who know nothing about cars I describe it as a “large go kart” but this is Jalopnik, you can be more specific.
I’m sorry but this thing is far from being an electric go-kart. A carbon fibre monocoque, double wish-bone suspension, full body aero kit (they removed the rear wing for record attempt), Formula SAE is way more than some kids building a go-kart.
Ugly wheels? Though I agree they aren’t the prettiest, those are RPF1’s, pretty much the lightest quality/but still low on price wheel you can get.
Club without the wheels and brakes because I want the LSD. I’d put my own wheels/tires on it, do my own brake setup, and probably swap out the Bilsteins for a coilover setup.
It’s like watching people play Gran Turismo for the first time.
Kind of an irrelevant point. What if your headgasket fails, what if you get a fuel leak, what if you get a blowout? Point is, any number of things can bork your car, this system adds some and takes some away. Nothing is ever foolproof.
