Dan Harmon was the writer of ALL THE EPISODES.  Do you realize how over the top hands on he was as a showrunner.  Essentially the writers executed his voice.  This wasn't some round table where everybody had their vision on the page (and the main reason he was not loved yet very respected as a showrunner.)

I think worse than that.  It's finding out the person you crush on hard is revealed to have been killed and the identity was taken over by a horrible creature.  It's the cynical aspect to this whole thing that makes it worse.  Community is dead.
