When corporate heads and the government are doing their best to read the same script about an issue, you know they’re both lying. Well, apparently Ms. Streeter doesn’t know they’re both lying...

With all due respect, I disagree with this article.

More absolute trash from Jalopnik.

Yeah except no other airlines were having issues operating into these areas, no atc delays were recorded other than normal and as an airline pilot, every single person I know that flies for Southwest (which, sure it’s in the low teens but still) has told me that that is what is going on. That’s what a sick out is, it

jesus, this site is so blue pilled. so the weather ONLY affected southwest flights? FFS... quick google report of weather over the weekend: clear.

Travelers, students, or other H1-B employees were my first thought. A lot of people flew home when covid hit and then couldn’t get visas renewed all summer. I started teaching at CMU in the fall and desks had just been left with work and equipment on them, expecting it to blow over quickly and then things like that

Besides the most two common questions, Is that a 240? (Understandable, It’s a Datsun 280Z) and What year? (78) the third question itself isn’t a dumb, but the conversation following is. I have had a version ofthis conversation at least three times in the last year. This was the worst one

You know that vaccinated people are just as likely to spread, right? Have you seen the new study from Israel? You can’t blame unvaccinated people for spreading the virus when literally every piece of information, including those from the vaccines makers and cdc, and every scientist in the world says that vaccinated

I don’t think there is any coddling happening here. Only vaccinated are driving the busses here.

Only once was the trailer I reserved actually available when I went to pick it up

I was a mechanic at a VW, Audi, Porsche dealer when these were new. These cars were the loaners when people had warranty work done. These cars were (to be gentle) giant piles of dog shit and genital herpes in car form.

Can I recruit people who have free time and know how to work a deal to go in to skeezy dealerships on their busiest days and tie them up for hours working through deals and then just walk away.  Waste their time as much as you can?  Play the four square game with them.  Whatever?

Due to the current inventory shortage, you are unable to email pictures of your house at this time.

Yes, the dealership model is 20th century retail philosophy, but requiring customers to be physically present to even begin productive discussions is the most regressive sales tactic I can imagine.

I’d be inclined to inject this into the conversation: “You do understand that you’re throwing away the opportunity to make some money, right?  If you send me away then you have no chance whatsoever, instead of the rapidly diminishing chance you currently have.”

Public sector workers already have more protections than private sector through civil service laws. Reform the civil service laws if you think they don’t go far enough. Public sector unions are all about electing the friendliest officials who are in charge of them, and pay them the most, making it a gross circle jerk

100% this.

100%
I wish I could give a heart instead of a star. Fortunately, public sector employee union support is waning as most of them have overplayed their hand during the pandemic.

This isn’t the first time he’s brought up that specific event, while ignoring that that the flight controllers did was totally illegal, and also ignoring that public sector unions are now obscenely powerful.

My mom always told me about Reagan firing the air traffic controllers as a foundational act of destruction against the fabric of American society.
