The only negligence displayed here was by the rider. If he can’t manage that turn in that situation (the idea that he was crowded out by the other rider is ludicrous!!) without crashing, he shouldn’t be on the damn track.

Yes, the “driver” should have had his eyes on the road, and this crash was definitely avoidable, and the sensors should have recognized her, but...does the bicyclist have zero sense of self-preservation? Did she not see / hear / feel that car bearing down on her?

I definitely wouldn’t describe that controller as “weird”.
