I think, especially where the country is at this point, that actually trying to raise the level of discourse is extremely important, and following the Fox News model of “make shit up, yell at people who disagree, and constantly move the goalposts” is extremely damaging.

You keep moving the goalposts. It was a poorly reasoned analogy and people are rightly commenting on that. You may be on the right side of the issue but your behavior in these comments isn’t very rational or nice and obscures the greater point that you’re trying to make.

People have the right to watch Louis Ck’s comedy if they do choose. If you don’t like it, feel free to publicly state that.

As I understand it, Louis CK asked for permission and when it wasn’t granted he walked away.  He should not have asked at all, it was wildly inappropriate.  But it was not assault.

None of the “victims” in this case felt it was worth perusing in court. This was all the court of public outrage, nothing more. 

I think its mostly due to the fact that recognitions is a troll and knows the points he makes don’t hold up to scrutiny. He chooses to be dismissive instead of engaging in real conversation because he knows he is wrong.

Comparing a doctor to a comedian is absurd, comparing a doctor-patient relationship to a comedian-fan relationship is even more absurd, and comparing a doctor committing assault in the actual course of their work to a comedian committing assault outside the course of theirs might be the most absurd of all.

Yes, because comedians, as part of their job, have access to people's naked bodies in a closed room with no witnesses. It's pretty much exactly the same.
