Unfortunately, he's kind of right. All OCPs are associated with an increased risk of blood clots. Certain progestin-only pills have the lowest increase in risk, but if you do have a clot, you can't be on any of them.

My doctor gave me months worth of samples for Lo loestrin. I can't take it anymore and I still have two months worth. I would happily donate them to your illegal website.

You can get Mirena even if you've had a blood clot.

It really crossed my mind, but I had another flight to go. I could change clothes, but not shower. And the flight was full enough that I might have been sitting in the bloody seat for the next 8 hours.

Even though Mirena isn't contraindicated for women who have had blood clots, my GYN won't put one in me. I probably should shop around GYNs, but after having a clot, the thought of having something hormone-producing that I can't remove in me is a little frightening.

I read a little about this, but it isn't recommended for women who wish to have children. I'm hoping it will be more common if my fibroids return after I'm done with kids though. It sounds like if it works for you, it would be great. Thanks for the additional information.

I'm actually having a myomectomy, not a hysterectomy. My fibroid (and I think it's one giant fibroid) will be removed, and hopefully my uterus will be stitched together to be strong enough to work as a uterus. I have not yet had children and would like to.

I don't want a hysterectomy, which I think is the problem. In her case, they likely removed the uterus vaginally after cutting it up through laprascopic incisions, maybe? I can't find any information on microscopic hysterectomy online to see if that's what happens, but I do know my fibroid is larger than an incision…

There isn't another minimally invasive way to remove certain large uterine tumors in women who wish to keep their uterus. Should have said that. In my case, with the failure of my D&C, my options are laprascopic using morcellation or open abdominal surgery.
