Well your initial statement is correct. People should be free to be themselves except when it causes harm to others. Republicans have a tangible negative impact on my life. Trans people do not.

You're not wrong per say, but if you do a comment analysis for ESPN, you'll find they're only in like the 60th percentile of shittiness, on average. FYI Deadspin is basically the sports version of here, except with a somehow worse commenting system than disqus.

Yea, I regret missing her speech now. But in my defense, it was the ESPYs.

I was told to check out Ministry's anti-FOX News song, "Fairly Unbalanced." Is that any good?

Neutral Milk Hotel - King of Carrot Flowers
Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks - Brain Gallop
Grateful Dead - Sugaree
Fugazi - Bulldog Front
Umphrey's Magee - No Diablo
Sleater-Kinney - What's Mine Is Yours
Ghostface Killah - 9 Milli Bros
Fatboy Slim - Talkin' Bout My Baby
Phish - 2001
Metallica - Seek & Destroy

In both senses of the word really.

Kudos to Eric Thurm btw for pointing out the cleverness of Garnet's last line. Totally missed that one. Also agreed.

That's what I figured.

It has to be Stanley or Stanford, right?

He fucked up a lot. And sort of acted like a POS a lot. It's just weird that after this episode, I actually have more faith in him than before.

I dunno, he's more of a "bum" or something. He's not a bad human being really. He seems more inept than anything else.

Hey 2x! Sardonyx was my favorite of the fusions I think, at least visually. I didn't love the plot of this ep (definitely in the minority though) but thought it was one of the most visually stunning.

That was basically how I felt about it. It seemed to hit on too many familiar Pearl beats and was relatively meh I thought. But that's by SU standards. Amethyst was bright spot for me in this one.

In case anyone is unclear (e.g. this fellow who replied to me) the Bechdal Test isn't meant to be used as a critical tool for individual episodes or series, but for the larger industry. It's okay to have a show about two dudes and that's the whole show. Just not every show on TV should be like that.

Eh, I think you've gone too far now, Social Justice Praetoriyn. But keep fighting the good fight!

"why the snarkiness at the end there?"

I see what you're saying, but I actually did enjoy the action scene after finding much of the rest of the episode forgettable. I mean, I cared enough to watch the whole thing, but I did not think they did a particularly good job of building suspense throughout the episode.

Apocalypse Now was released to wide acclaim. Many critics now regard it as one of the greatest films ever made. It was honored with the Palme d'Or at Cannes, and nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture and the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Drama. The film was also ranked #14 in theSight and

Did anyone else notice how many scenes had sort of unearned dramatic music? It was like: "I've been a good friend!" "With friends like these…" BONNNGGGGG *slow fade*

I get that everyone's nutting over the shootout. It was a great scene from an action standpoint. But the rest of the episode…I just don't know.
