So true! I also lived in Mexico for a year. It’s traditional there to get to know your neighbors, so people come by when you first move in. The American expats would slam the door in the local’s faces.

I was there for a month (Hawaii) and I wearied of tourists saying “back in the United States”.

Now my friends that visit us from below the border all think we live in Hollywood with huge pools and Lambos- but that’s a whole different story.
