There's a line in "The West Wing" about how the President's staff needs to be his "wide angle lens"- they need to help him keep the big picture in mind. Clara is the opposite, especially with 12- she's needed to keep the Doctor from forgetting that he's dealing with real people, not abstract ideologies. 11 had that

I just love Clara's retort: "Pay attention, you still do."

My line is that Moffat isn't racist of misogynist, he's chauvInist. He's got an excessive amount of faith in himself (and hey, he's a big success, so why not?) and that extends to people like him- successful white guys. He bears no ill-will toward anyone else- but will patronize them a little. I think he genuinely

Knowing it intellectually and experiencing it emotionally are two different things- for example, see what Clara herself says when War, 10, and 11 are about to activate The Moment.

Yeah, I'm not sure where to draw the line; I just know that in "Journey to the Center of the TARDIS", when he confirmed that it was infinite, it really took me out of the show. It was like- why use it to explore the universe when, by definition, it it's as big/bigger (not up on my cosmology, I'm afraid) than the

DW, especially under the current show runner, really punishes distracted-viewing.

"but we're supposed to count this a victory?"

That was the interpretation I had, as well.

It would also let the producers do a "soft retcon" of some of the more hand-wavey elements of the TARDIS. I mean, I know some people like the library in the swimming pool or whatever, and they have gotten some mileage out of that, but the idea that the TARDIS is infinite has never sat right with me.

Good men don't need rules; my rule, though, is to never argue the sexual talent of someone who has chosen to go by "Spacemeat".

He HAS; Let's see what Twelve thinks of them.

I didn't get that at all, I thought she retained all of last week's newfound personality.

1 and 2 actually aren't accurate to what the show was portrayed, but hey, at least you capitalized "retarded" in 3.

OTOH, the timey-wimey structure of their meet-cute was just Coupling all over.

I mean, not liking it is fine, how could it even be avoided? The problem comes in accusatory questions/comments to those who did like it.

People like different things. It oughtn't stress you out so.

Power of 3 drives me crazy because it came up with the perfect way to send off the Ponds- they just decide they don't want to travel anymore- and then discards it so that we can run the Angels into the absolute fucking ground.

Also, I believe Moffat has said "each new Doctor isn't the Doctor until he faces the Daleks"- so TPTB think there's a good thematic reason to bring them back often, too.

I'm actually seeing a lot of Troughton in his face; I know pretty much every Doctor in New Who has referenced Two, but Twelve is the first one to really demonstrate it.

I don't think she was rejecting the Doctor for looking old, though; I think it was about the Doctor abandoning her, both literally (repeatedly throughout TOTD, and then, confirming her fears, twice in DB), and metaphorically in leaving her with this lunatic. And yeah, she's familiar with the regeneration process-
