I don’t know but she really doesn’t bug me all that much. I get the snark but she just seems so inoffensive compared to so many others out there. Maybe with all that is going on right now I just can’t hate on her. Or maybe I’m just tired of all the bullshit happening. Yeah probably that.

For my tastes the Wachowskis’ output of late has strayed too far into self-indulgent and heavy handed messaging to the detriment of the storytelling. Considering the prevalence of red and blue pills used in the marketing so far I’m a little bit worried. I’m envisioning the Architect replaced by a thinly veiled Trump

So I’m just about finished with the first season Killing Eve, and I don’t know what I’m missing, but it’s not as good as I was lead to believe. Whenever I think the show is misleading the audience, giving us a red herring, it actually just goes ahead and does the expected.

Sometimes it gets hard to remember, but at the time, the gay representation in The Wire was a huge deal. It says a lot that things that were groundbreaking representation-wise even 10, 15 years ago seem archaic and quaint now.

It’s still a big deal to have a major character that is both gay and non white. There was a

I’m totally an outlier, I know, but I liked Omar and LOVED Chalky. RIP.

Now playing

RIP He certainly won’t be building no bookcases up there.

I know this is not where most people know him from but I loved him in Boardwalk Empire.

For base of tongue cancer, and other cancers of the upper aerodigestive tract, the size is a lot less important than how deep it is invading through the layers of the tissue and what lymph nodes might be involved. Treatment can be pretty rough, but is often curative.

Literally zero idea of what your point is here, but okay!

Buffy, Buffy, Buffy, Buffy, Buffy.

The Last Jedi was a piece of media that I thought I would love but oh my God do I ever hate it.

I quite liked The Accountant. It was the kind of mid-tier mid-budget action movie you’d see in the 90s and it worked for me.

I saw Sicario (An adolescent power fantasy on how to right wrongs through the power of magical thinking)“

I have no idea how that trailer is supposed to sell the show to non-book readers. Everything looks so damn generic. Witcher manages to keep the thirst taps flowing, GoT has tits and dragons, and the Silmarillion show has a ton of built-in name recognition.

Yeah, to not mention United 93 at all is definitely a bit weird.

Roddenberry was also a shameless womanizer, skirt-chaser and notorious credit hog (among other things.) I’d love to see a warts-and-all movie about him, but since this is coming from his son, I can’t imagine that’s going to be the case.

I’m personally not too terribly excited about the marriage drama (of...well, any of them), and much prefer when The Crown focuses on the Queen’s diplomatic roles, among other things.

This William Hughes guy really went the long way to say “OK, Boomer.”, didn’t he?

all this brendan fraser talk really has me itching to revisit ‘blast from the past’ and the extremely fun airheads.
