Eh, wild medical anachronisms is pretty much part and parcel of the Witcher franchise. Without spoiling the details of Wild Hunt, there’s a pretty vital subplot in that game that depends upon both Geralt and the other party having a conversational knowledge of biological weapons, the germ theory of disease, and

“Toss a coin to your Witcher” was one of the most uninspired, repetitive songs I’ve heard in recent memory.  Every time the chorus line was repeated I kept thinking, “surely this is the last time” and nope, it kept repeating 50 more times.

so was i alone in thinking he was obnoxious, seemed to be from a completely different show and unfunny?

I think the “Buddhist spice issue” is a non-issue, because in general, Buddhists in China and elsewhere do not have any particular dietary restrictions they’re obliged to adhere to. Buddhism encourages vegetarian diets, but it’s not a requirement for lay adherents.
The only people in Buddhism who are supposed to adhere

“Here’s your coffee...and here’s your dime.”

That’s a great idea!

I think the boldest choice was not “magically” repairing his spine at some point later in the show. Very impressed they didn’t take that “easy way out.”

They technically didn’t kill him, but Jason Street’s paralysis in the first episode of Friday Night Lights was a bold choice for a series premiere.

Despite one’s opinions on who she was as a person, I think its worth noting that she opened up the conversation on mental health in a very candid way that did not exist then.

He’s gonna, it’s true.

From wikipedia: “She grew up on the Upper East Side and attended the Ramaz School in New York City.” So, ok, she personally had no emergency fund. But she had wealthy parents which is better than any emergency fund. “Absurdly-privileged-but-I’m-not-privileged” is right.

The way it works:

Director J.J. Abrams was apparently very insistent that nobody would play Leia other than Carrie Fisher

Yeah. It’s sad she died, but she was a self-centered pain in the ass. And my first thought upon seeing this headline was, “Now she’ll never have to grow up.”

Finally someone sane. Anyone who thinks Warren wouldn’t immediately get destroyed by Trump she won the primary is deluding themselves. She absolutely does not know how to campaign against any real opposition.

So are we just going to ignore Warren caving to McCain on Soleimani?

I still have to keep reading, but I wanted to come down here to say that I’m actually really surprised that, with all the, to put it nicely, shitboxes that we’ve seen David drive over the years, he’d never driven a vehicle with a bad clutch.

Have to admit, you want an entertaining Jalopnik post to read, you can always count on Tracy. Goes to show us car guys have soft spots in our heads for certain cars where nothing stops us from getting them to run—too cool.

Strictly speaking the speeding tickets are not the car’s fault, merely the mechansim which made it possible for you to be at fault.

I had a 1993 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin turbo for about six months and it had 20K miles on it when I bought it. Fantastic car. Nothing but problems. Speeding Tickets, Power steering failure, Back to the dealer 3 times to get one of the electronic suspension front struts fixed. You had to warm up the brakes when it was
