I’ve long wondered what her career would have been like if she’d been born 20 years later, where even if she’d done equivalent things, society’s views on mental illness had changed enough so that her actions would have been understood as they are now.

I’d definitely go for a device versus the phone.

More power to you if you want to pay $100 to see if you can tell where Robert Downey Jr.’s hairpiece is applied. I couldn’t, but I was a mere plebe in my choice of theaters. He’s a lock for at least a best supporting actor nomination.

It’s a problem when “character development, experimental plots, and one-offs” have been anywhere between not compelling to downright sloppy this season, especially in leaving out the best stories that could have been told from the one offs in favor of safe ones. Then you add in that they’ve not addressed the big ol’

My first reaction: the writers haven’t come anywhere close to earning this yet, especially given how clunky this season has been. I guess we’ll see the Gorn or anything else resembling a main plot arc in Episode 10.

I had much the same thought during the Uhura-Ramon fight, where I was thinking during it “She really is going to make one of the most fundamental mistakes of close combat, which is offering a chance for your opponent to disarm you, or even worse, get your weapon.” We are trained to do exactly the opposite and stand

The story of his caregiving was genuinely amazing. His much younger wife was absolutely devoted to personally maintaining his dignity and whatever semblance of a normal life he could manage, and while I’m sad about Bennett, I’m glad her burden is done.

Only 6 of the 22 leaders of Westernized democracies have net positive approval ratings.

I had totally forgotten about Wired, let alone that Bob Woodward wrote the book that it was based off of.

Yep. It’s really hard nowadays to stomach even some of the great films he was in, and this ain’t one of those.

Though Rand thought he destroyed the Dark One

Love Mandy Moore’s, Allison Janey’s, and especially Gillian Jacobs’ (no surprise the redhead has the best survival gear for going outside) sunhats.

I would think it’s offensive to him - minus your air quotes - because Cameron was good friends with “P.H.”, Paul-Henry Nargeolet, who he’d worked with for 25 years before he died in the implosion. He talked a little bit about that friendship when he did his initial interview.

Please never again do a recap as a slideshow.

I’m glad the Gross Pointe Blank one is included as it tops my list, although props to you for pointing out High Fidelity (where I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the three song fantasy confrontation with Tim Robbins’ character as one of the all time great sequences.)

Yeah, it’s a terrific catch of a great deal for existing Prime members who got the Amazon invite, but for the rest of us, not so much.

That opening theme is the other great part of the sequel; it’s even been used as as a placeholder soundtrack for other productions a few times.
