The interesting part about bringing Sanderson on for more than the occasional script consult is that while so many have talked about GoT as a comp, there’s a better model that pretty much nobody has discussed that would have done this: Bosch.

In democratizing the focus

I guess that whole sequence about him being a refurbished model isn’t part of your head canon.

My word, that essay is just brutal.

I’d go further than that; the fight scenes overall were not particularly interesting.

I’d generally agree. It’s not a great film by any means, but it’s better than the vast majority of decades later callbacks.

I made it through 2 episodes of Yellowstone before rolling my eyes and giving up, but the first two episodes of this...actually aren’t terrible.

I’ll presume you’re asking in good faith.

And ouch. 4 cast members apparently tested positive.

I hope they are clever enough to use the fact they have limited cast for the 5 timer skit.

Moraine sends a message back to the Tower for the Red Ajah to hunt Mat

Bernal is wonderful but incredibly miscast, and has little chemistry with Danielle Deadwyler

Just watched the first episode and it was in desperate need of a rewrite, and not just the masks.

I thought the TV adaptation of The Passage was somewhat better than the average during-the-apocalypse show.  Would have been curious to see what they would have done once they went forward 100 years.

Exit To Eden (later adapted into a Garry Marshall buddy-cop comedy that was universally panned, including by Rice herself)

but maybe they could retcon it

With the additional irony of that particular scene developing not from a narrative decision but the actor leaving so they needed to write him out.

But this episode feels in many ways like the culmination of what the show has been working towards all along

Oh wow. Willie Garson being in that shot is just poignant.

2001? Band of Brothers, which aired its first two episodes on Sunday, September 9th.
