One of the many amazing things about the Lust in the Heart interview is that it showed both how honest and good hearted a man he was - but also just how utterly naive and politically incompetent he would turn out to be for the next four years.

I have several of the compendiums of the interviews on my bookshelves.
That would imply that Billy Bean is Centauri.
I’ll go further: They Shall Not Grow Old is the single best movie I’ve seen in the last several years. It’s also probably the only movie I’ve ever watched where 3D added significant value to the media.
I remember reading the article you linked when you posted it originally. I thought it was a great illustration of what the league could potentially draw if the NWSL happens to be the premiere entertainment option in a town for that particular point of the year.
It’s Boston, and not just Boston but Memorial Drive in Cambridge.
I watched the first episode last night and to my surprise it was actually pretty good.
It’s all out now.
Psh, I’ll say hello.
Hauer never quite got the recognition he deserved.
One of the more interesting tidbits I’ve read in recent years (think it was in the First Man book, possible it was one of the Apollo 8 books though) is that Lovell almost ended up in Aldrin’s spot on Apollo 11, but Armstrong was ok working with Aldrin and NASA higher ups also didn’t want to demote Lovell to LEM…

I think some version of Lal fits better with the reveals, but that’s a great theory.

I’d be interested in seeing a source for that. According to everything I’ve read on the subject, there’s no indication that Safire played any role whatsoever in Armstrong’s dedication.
I do like that they at least address him being passed over by board after board, which lowers the suspension of disbelief a little bit. And indeed, the Navy and Air Force have been short enough on senior pilots for a number of years now so that’s it’s not completely beyond belief.
