It’s Boston, and not just Boston but Memorial Drive in Cambridge.

I watched the first episode last night and to my surprise it was actually pretty good.

It’s all out now.

Hauer never quite got the recognition he deserved.

One of the more interesting tidbits I’ve read in recent years (think it was in the First Man book, possible it was one of the Apollo 8 books though) is that Lovell almost ended up in Aldrin’s spot on Apollo 11, but Armstrong was ok working with Aldrin and NASA higher ups also didn’t want to demote Lovell to LEM

Since for some reason this apparently hasn’t yet been deemed newsworthy across any of the G/O sites, RIP Chris Kraft. Probably one of the four or five most important people in the history of the space program.

This works right up until the point when it doesn’t. All it takes is one conflict over seats and the usher remembering your face, and boom. That’s always been the case since long before Photoshop and smartphones.

I think some version of Lal fits better with the reveals, but that’s a great theory.

Along with ‘Wow, the star of the show isn’t out to try to stick a knife in my back ever opportunity she gets.’

I sympathize. Vandermeer is getting pretty close to my permanent pass list; despite all his publicity and friends in the industry lauding him, he just can’t seem to write a coherent narrative.

I’d be interested in seeing a source for that. According to everything I’ve read on the subject, there’s no indication that Safire played any role whatsoever in Armstrong’s dedication.

I do like that they at least address him being passed over by board after board, which lowers the suspension of disbelief a little bit. And indeed, the Navy and Air Force have been short enough on senior pilots for a number of years now so that’s it’s not completely beyond belief.

One of the things that’s remarkable about the failed moon landing release is that it was essentially lost to history for three decades.

The Red Sox would be the last MLB team to integrate, in 1959.

Are they still charging lower box prices for the bleacher ‘boxes’ in right?

Let’s go for something marginally obscure - Psychomania by The Damned.  I want to say this was on a soundtrack someplace too.
