Three fun bits of trivia on Dunkirk for the Oscar parties.

That’s really interesting about how well the Insta Pot does black rice. I bought a bag from Costco a while back and even with a Zojirushi never got to the point where I liked the end product.

True story: I once drove hundreds of miles (through a blizzard, no less) to avoid a nearby MEPS for a pre-commissioning physical. Oddly enough, my command was quite supportive of my desire to get it done elsewhere and orders were remarkably easy to obtain. MEPS, the shared experience that binds us all even if you’re

Since there still seems to be significant confusion as to what the policy actually requires, I’ll repost something here that I wrote up when the memo came out.

Some of the Ronan/Metcalf scenes were pleasantly authentic, but on walking out I wondered a bit why this got as much hype as it did - and then went home, watched Pump Up the Volume for the first time in years, and was surprised I now felt the same about it too (even if the latter’s soundtrack was far better; Concrete

I was in Small Claims last week.

This is an intent-to-treat study: what results do people get when you give them a goal of 20 grams?

So far, though, our best guess is that if you flip a coin your chances are probably just as good on a low-fat diet as a low-carb one.

If you’re interested in learning more about the fat side of your argument, I’d suggest taking a look at Phinney’s The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living. It’s not easy reading as it’s an academic work meant for medical professionals, but it’ll give you more scientific background on the subject than anything

Yep, I had almost the same thing happen.

They should use this (from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days) on the homepage for the website, because it doesn’t sound terribly dissimilar.

Interesting factoid, but it’s far more likely to do with the significant distinction of Meyer being a Medal of Honor recipient.

Was this back in the 2.0 days? Multiclass was just brutal on XP back then; I can see how it’d have slowed down group advancement to a crawl. Were you using the modules?

What ultimately bothers me about the portraits is that both are far more about the artist than the subject. That’s fine for the vast majority of art (and indeed, other creative endeavors), but I’d agree - for this particular set and the requirements underlying it, it’s inappropriate.

If you’ve got a Smartthings or other Zigbee hub, the Sengled versions are better - half the price when they’re on sale, and what I’ve found with Alexa/Home-only wifi is that there’s a decent shot you end up getting disconnected periodically and have to go through setup completely once again.
