Ah, you can take 101...all two lanes of it. That should be an interesting drive for your hauler.

Yep, if you have any interest in going between Seattle and Portland in the next day, you’re going to have a remarkably long detour. I wonder if the passes have snow as well.

Thanks for the rec! I actually have Beeronomics ordered as well.

Thanks, interesting stuff. If I remember right, one of the ways this tends to get studied is going through excise tax receipts, which in turn I think were based on actual alcohol content.

True, but that spirits line was consistent throughout the 1800s (at least in the UK; in the US I think it may have been even higher - that’s how you tended to celebrate election day before and after voting, for instance), and still winds up something like 400% higher consumption than today.

Yeah, my jaw dropped when I read that for the first time, and I’m pretty well versed in oddball political history.

I would suspect the less snarky answer may have something to do with the rounds of radiation and chemo she went through a few years back, along with what she’s got to compensate for nowadays with not having a thyroid.

Increased drinking since the mid-20th century reflects greater affordability, availability, and marketing of alcohol products

Try reading some of Sally Bedell Smith’s books. They’re some of the sources for the Crown, and while she’s sort of run in the same social circles as Charles, her biography of him is not exactly flattering so it’s (probably) reasonably objective.

While I can forgive the atrocious accent - the Brahmin accent is a bit hard to nail, but not impossible - he also got the cadence completely wrong too, and that was more disappointing since it’s a lot easier.

Fun fact two: Teddy Kennedy HATED that accent and that character.

We’ll see. I’m not a fan of the series, as the first book is about the only one that’s marginally comprehensible. Never understood the hype, save that VanderMeer is really well thought of by others in the field which tends to lead to glowing peer reviews even if he’s off putting out crap.

I stopped watching around Season 4 and I can’t say this trailer makes me regret doing so.

And my insurance refuses to pay for any medication that could help with that

It won’t be this year. Andrew Marchand’s quote nails it, since it’s a reminder of what’s available after 2018.

Further proof that the man of your dreams exists only in those dreams.

Mine had the pumpkin version on sale for Halloween. I passed.

1. As Noble asks, I’m curious how the texture here compares to sous vide, which I’ve used for the keto version of this quite successfully.

Ungreyed, because this is almost certainly why he was convinced to leave now.

Unfortunately, no. Keto generally requires you to stay under 20 net carbs, and corn starch and sweet potato would nuke that. For most recipes you end up using coconut, almond flour and sometimes other ground nuts like macadamias, sometimes protein powder, and occasional vegetables like yam.
