I don’t think of Froome as a “boring” rider, but Sky’s tactics are definitely boring as hell. Couple that with these BS “unwritten rules” the peloton is supposed to follow and not attack during a mechanical and you suck ALL of the suspense out of the race. Froome himself took quite a few chances in that indy TT on wet

Bouldering IS good. I’m no expert, but one piece of advice I would offer people thinking about it - learn how to fall! Just about every other time I have been to the bouldering gym, some rookie twists the holy shit out of their ankle(s) when they drop from the wall onto the big mats below them.

I’ve only had my Ridgeline for about a month, but I love that thing. It does all the truck stuff that I need and is downright athletic on the road. Probably the best road trip vehicle I’ve ever owned.

I like watching the evolution of hair styles trying to balance out the lack of a chin. Then, he eventually gives up and settles on the always popular “American Psycho” Wall St. look....

Great article, Ben!

I have to say, I’m over the old school idea that you can’t attack when someone has a mechanical... and I’m old school myself. I kind of understand it when it’s a crash. But a mechanical is something different. I love cycling and the Tour, but these unwritten “rules” really take away any suspense on many stages.

I have even personally experienced a time when I—in the aisle seat—failed to rise, and the person sitting inside grew so agitated that he awkwardly slid past me so he could stand in the aisle.

After spending far too much time that I can’t get back reading about this, I feel like the truth is probably somewhere between “the dog was perfectly fine when she took him” and Dunham ruined this dog and gave him up”.

I agree this is bullshit. If the Tour was so worried about safety they would stop using unpadded metal barriers and doing their best to create stages that are as absolutely treacherous as possible. They SHOULD have also punished Cavendish for doing what he has always done - try to blast his way through a gap that

McGregor has almost no chance to win this. Maybe he knows that and just wants the big payday and it’s worth the chance. I do get that... Mayweather is FAR too quick and accurate, even at 40, to get beat in a boxing match by an amateur boxer like McGregor. No, he doesn’t have big knockout power - he never really has.

That was an awesome explanation, Ben! Below is my much more concise version for Americans who are used to playing/ watching football. Or if people are too impatient or drunk to read through it:

Not really looking to part it out (not enough free time to make that happen). When I’m set to buy something new in August I will either put it out there on one of the CRD forums for sale with the whole story so people know exactly what they would be getting, or I’ll just get a quick cash offer from Vroom or a dealer.

I have a 2005 Jeep liberty CRD with 165k miles on it that I would love to see go to a Jeep lover rather than a trade in at some heartless dealer with a minimum trade allowance.

Dana White is just the worst. It is just amazing to me how they turned the failing (original) UFC into such a huge success, but now seemed determined to blow the entire fucking thing up out of greed and his own fragile ego. He lets McGregor do whatver the hell he wants, but tries to play games with DJ?

It’s hard to believe that sending texts to coworkers like those shared in this farewell post didn’t get her fired for blatant workplace harrassment... And it’s even harder to believe that after reading this post her new employer would still offer her a job. Whatever! I hope that Wired will allow Ashley a LARGE budget

It seems stupid, but I don’t think a poop break is looked at the same as a crash. One is totally out of your control and the other is a choice: stop and shit in nature like a civilized bear, or shit your pants and keep riding... It might be looked at as cheap, but not the same.

That last fight against Andrade was so impressive. That takes so much discipline to stick to that game plan for 5 rounds and not take any damage from such a tough opponent. She has to be in that discussion about best pound for pound fighters, male or female.

I am constantly recruiting for the sport of rugby vs. football, but this is a sad reminder that it will never be a pillow fight. Hope this young man gets back to some kind of normal asap.

Hertz might also be hurting because their company has a reputation as a black hole of evil assclowns who will attempt to charge you for “damage” to their cars that did not occur during your rental, yet would not be seen on a normal pre-rental inspection walk through....

All good advice! I would also add that even if you’ve met a dog before you should still approach them using this advice. Especially if you have changed your appearance slightly by wearing a hat or a big jacket or are carrying something in your hand. This could change the whole game for some dogs...
