I am fully on board with viewing him in at least two ways: 1) the ego-centric individual and 2) the legitimately sage, semi-omniscient arbiter of what it means to be an artist and consumer of culture in these days. He's one of those people where you go, "oh he's full of it, but he's not wrong either"

I know! I actually loved some of this advice! I'm an artist and esteem myself on my sense of color acuity. People can't just be told to wear "red" and pick their own versions of red willy nilly. Damn it

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is one of my favorites... the scene where the ship is stranded for so long and then comes into a freshwater sea full of lilies is something I imagine thinking about on my death bed. And I'm not even Christian.
