Speed itself is never an issue. The real problem is the fact that, in an accident, you come to a stop, usually very quickly.

I know I’m not answering the question exactly, but I can’t resist:

V4

1M’s have appreciated since new (atleast in the US where only 740 where delivered)

And here’s how you build one at home!

because they’re relatively cheap and you get a ton of HP for your money. so 19-year-old TylerSkylerKyler or AidanBradenJadenKaden gets one with mom co-signing his loan, then pulls stunts like in the video. Then when those antics get Cars & Coffee canceled, they’ll mope away muttering “man, this is bullshit!”

No one is challenging his freedom of speech. Criticizing him isn’t challenging his freedom of speech. Calling for him to be fired isn’t challenging his freedom of speech. This is not a free speech issue.

Fortunately, that freedom of speech includes our freedom to tell him to shove it

No matter how hateful, it’s freedom of speech. And he has the right to get paid to publish his opinions.

No one wants to take away Clarkson’s freedom of speech. That’s not up for debate. All we’re doing is questioning the motives of why he would want to post shit like this. Ultimately all it does is foster attitudes that make life difficult for people.

The notion in which people call on a person to be fired because they read something they don’t like is beyond dumb. The correct course of action is public discourse and argument, not trying to silence the opposition.

In Clarkson’s defense, I doubt one column sums up his entire thoughts and reasoning on the matter, and

You’d think after fucking up and losing an amazing job, and then netting another amazing job, he’d kinda just keep his mouth shut for a while and be thankful for his good fortune. But no, that’s not how he operates...

Torch, is this part of the new Gawker, and now Jalop, focus to jump in on social issues?

It’d also be nice if people stopped getting upset at him for saying stupid things and being generally insulting. That’s his shtick. He insults things while being stupid.

Clearly he didn’t read the warning...

That’s just old BMW ownership for you. My 97 M3 required constant maintenance. You’d fix one thing and the thing you fixed last year would fail again (I’m looking at you leaky PS). Some things you don’t bother fixing (Vanos needed rebuilding).

I live in Boulder among these people. First off, too many early retiree millionaires are wearing that exact pretentious hat. Also, don’t drive a car that pollutes *extra* across the country if you want to help the environment.

I like the point that the auto shop may be using a superior part, but the bit where ‘they need profit somewhere’ isn’t what I’d focus on, they charge for labor already (this just sounds like marking up the shipping on ebay items to eek out more pennies). I’d stick to the points of:

I just assume everything from the United Kingdom is fake.

Love some good engineering porn! Take it off dirty girl.
