If more interior space for road trips is what you need, wouldn’t a minivan/van of some sort make far more sense than a Ram 2500?

Every idiot thinks the #boringgenericcar is one of those finicky cars that they think gets better mileage/runs smoother. They are just suckers though.

Don’t try to go cheap.

That 67 Mustang is a valuable car today, but wasn’t at the time.

I-375 - does not connect any states.

I’ve owned a cheap turbo subaru.

I completely agree.

Time for the firebomb of reasons 1st gear will never work, accompanied by 0 alternatives or things that will.

Depends.

Still, Jesus Christ, have you ever driven through Nebraska?

We had a couple of 70s ford trucks with those seat covers too. Maybe that’s where my parents got the idea for the “seat covers” in the vans.

I grew up in dodge minivans with actual mexican blankets on the seats. I hated those blankets, they always move and bunch up.

I have more problems with suspension or exhaust bolts, if a head breaks off, it can usually just be punched through or cut off.

My usual strategy is to use PB blaster, a bunch of force, and replacement bolts when they break.

That is true, EVs do have their advantages.

This is also why Tesla has a huge advantage right now. They are the only one with a large enough charging network to make road trips possible.

Well put.

If you want a vehicle that will hold up for a long time, no matter the abuse, it’s hard to beat a full sized truck. You’re right, I’m sure that changes the consideration by quite a bit.

Sigh. Here’s the deal. If you have room in your life for a single vehicle most people choose the one that does all our most of what they need. They don’t under buy and fill in with rental cars. For one, driving rental cars sucks, for another it can be expensive if that need is something like towing a boat for a week

Know how long a nose needs to be to have a road-legal crumple zone?
