I feel like it’s going to be a disposable sports car. The type of car that someone is going to drop $60k on, and then dump it after 12 months when they realize they should’ve just spent the money on a Porsche.

But that number is getting smaller and smaller.
Why would you keep investing millions in a market that is shrinking, when you already lose money in that market? The only way Ford was going to make profit is by selling more sedans...........IN A SHRINKING MARKET. How do you expect them to sell more when the market has dropped 20%?
it’s not 20% of the market. It’s 20% of the Sedan/CUV market.
Passenger car sales — “anything with a trunk,” LaNeve says — have steadily declined since 2012 from 49% of U.S. sales to just 30% in 2018. The first three months of 2019 show the free fall continues.
When I saw this, the first thing I wanted to know was “how much is the down payment?” The CyberTruck is a refundable $100 “deposit”. So that’s not that much of a barrier to make a down payment.
Like I said Focus only had 33% customer retention on a vehicle that most likely lost them money.
If owners of sedans can’t find one to replace their current one, they’ll end up with a crossover. Once they experience the additional space, ease of entry, etc., they will be hooked, and the trend will grow even stronger down the road.
market trend shows just the opposite. Crossovers out sell sedans 4 to 1.
And no one will bitch about poor fuel economy.
Still trying to figure out how is this thing going to pass any crash test, perform acceptably in any emergency maneuver test, or meet visibility and mirror requirements. The more I see it, the more I think this thing has to be a joke and the real Tesla pickup truck is going to be revealed soon, once the board ousts…
Did you know that CX-9 isn’t sold in Japan, because it’s simply too big, they have a slightly smaller CX-8 instead. That sort of things make you wonder about a lot of things.
It doesn’t even meet the mirror requirements for driving on the road in California.
You’re right, the google result was incomplete, there are gas powered F150 crew cab options that are rated over 10k pounds towing, and the diesel is approaching 12k pounds. (I didn’t comit it all to memory though).
What the hell are you towing that weighs 14,000 lbs only 30 miles?
No official ratings, but there are advertised towing numbers:
Neutral: Honestly? Performance models. Get people talking. Get people excited. Bring back what made them a marque worth considering.
