TL;DR - When the option is between small chance of major problem with baby vs large chance of any problem with mom, doctors will (almost) always recommend (or demand) option B...and often don’t explain the two options to the woman at all.

It is generally recommended but it is one of the MANY decisions during pregnancy that doctors very commonly don’t give women all the information on, or strongly encourage for their own convenience and lessoned liability rather than it actually being best for the mother and/or baby. This is not complicated. Anything you do on the subway (and generally in public actually) should remain within your cylinder of personal space; this includes smell, sound, and elbows.

As an architect the “tiny house” trend is infuriating. The media *cough*HGTV*cough* makes Tiny sound like just another style of house. It’s not, it’s a LIFESTYLE, and not one that is particularly compatible with American culture. I can’t believe it took this long for the “trend” to wane.
