Bored to Death! I miss that show. Watching Ted Dansen and Zach Galifianakis get stoned always makes me giggle

How about the reboot is set in Minneapolis, and Golden Girls have a sarcastic, nymphomaniac neighbor - Sue-Ann Niven!!!! Ok, I've been watching too many reruns of The Mary Tyler Moore show, but damn, Betty was funny & nasty as hell in that.

Definitely time for a reread. I do remember liking the book but obviously forgot alot. Now that you mention him, I kinda remember driver, but scrappy street urchins? Not so much. Luckily I just found my copy so here we go.

Ok, maybe it's time for a reread before the show starts. I remember our hero, his sidekick, Teddy Roosevelt, and some official that wants Teddy fired in the worst way, but no real female characters. Then again, I'm getting old and have read many many many books so I forget sometimes

It's early, I thought the same thing. Actually I thought "my daughter's right, I AM old". Go have a cup of coffee, it'll get better

Because Amy Lee has an amazing, beautiful voice. And my daughter went thru an Evanescence phase (thank god its over) and the only thing that kept me from killing everyone in the house was the fact that Lee's voice is a pleasure to listen to even if the music isn't

Real Jianyu is driving Trevor nuts because all his vows were for when he was alive, now that he's dead he dropped all of them and is talking/drinking/etc. to such a point that Trevor can't keep up

I'm right there with you. It's a forked-up friendship but it's OUR forked-up friendship

They're called classics for a reason. I also think the writing style puts some people off. It's more formal than we're used to in today's writings. And I don't think anyone should be forced to read them in high school. I feel the same way about Charles Dickens, he's one of my favorite writers but the style is

Congrats for being nominated. Can I ask for the title of your collection. Like I said, I love short stories and I would still put yours in that category

Keep writing them, I love love love short stories. Or I should say, well written ones. With a novel you can meander around the plot and go on tangents, with a short story you have to be more concise. And I promise, I'll never ask you when you're going to write a novel

All the russian greats should be exceptions. I personally tell people to read War and Peace, it might be hard to get started (huge, huge cast of characters) but it's a great story and well worth the time.
And also, I always read more than one book, usually a fiction and a non-fiction and I go back and forth depending

It's a wonderful fuck you to all the idiots who keep saying that this is their favorite time of year but walk around looking completely miserable. Btw, I did the same thing, not all of Sunny but my favs to get psyched for the new season.

Yes, THAT Fisher Stevens. He's an Oscar winning documentarian (The Cove, about dolphin hunting). And I know someone who worked with him on Bright Lights who said Carrie was wonderful, allowed full access and called everyday with new ideas or ways to tweak what was already filmed. She was getting ready to promote it

Oh, and I suppose I'm Deirdre??

Chardee MacDennis!! I was waiting for someone to mention it. My favorite sight gag is Frank locked in the dog crate. Good god I love Danny Devito. That scene and the look on Dennis' face when he gets impaled with the dart.

RIP Debbie. I started drinking already, I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. Double feature: Star Wars & Singing in the Rain

Unfortunately, it does happen like that. My parents were married 56 years, dad went, mom followed a year later. I'm the least religious person you'll meet but I always figure that they're happy together. Try to do the same, good luck.

I just saw the same thing. She was planning Carrie's service and collapsed. I'm just getting drunk til this year is over.

No, no, no. People always get this wrong. It's all about me. And I'm going to pour myself a scotch and reread Watership Down, it must be cocktail hour somewhere
