It might not have been the best move, career-wise, but Rogers was right to leave M*A*S*H. When he signed on, he expected to be co-lead with Alda, but before long the best lines, & more of 'em (in some episodes WAY more of 'em) were going to Alda. It'd be one thing if you could argue that Hawkeye got more & better…

Except the Stones were always basically a garage band. Not to disparage their musicianship—it's perfect for what they do—but they never pursued the kind of virtuosity Rush has. So it's easier for them to continue, because the music isn't as brutally physically demanding.
