Addendum: I'm a drummer myself (admittedly mediocre). Yesterday, after the Malcolm Young news, I sat & played along to some classic AC/DC. Today, after this thread, I ran through a couple S-K tunes. Damn, was that fun.

Excellent choice. From Dig Me Out, allow me to submit the title track, before the last chorus, as Exhibit B:
Yeah, I bought more S-K in short order. All Hands on the Bad One came out just as I was getting started, so that came next. Then Dig Me Out, which I remembered reading about when it was released (I'm pretty sure I still subscribed to Rolling Stone in '97). The tour behind Dig Me Out came to the DC area when we were…
And "grrrl" already wasn't even a word to begin with!
She's great, & I love the way she just beats the ever-loving shit outta them drums. Nobody—NOBODY—should EVER subcategorize her as great "for a girl".
Tucker's awesome wail was my favorite thing about S-K. As I got more into them, I began to appreciate other aspects of the songs, but that voice was what hit me first.
Agreed on "Little Mouth", but "I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone" is where S-K started for me, so I'm good with singling it out here. I'd heard OF them, but hadn't yet heard them. I won some money at a Super Bowl party, so I stopped at a record store to the way home the next day (Super Bowl ice storm = bad driving +…
For me, the fact that the details of the allegations against Singer are so similar to the earlier allegations against Collins-Rector make them less credible, not more. Maybe I'm being unfair, but knowing the details of a previous case would make it easier just to copy & paste that into a new accusation.
I agree, basically, but Singer is accused of rape, which as a crime takes it out of the "personal life" file. I, too, hope it's not true, but the cynic in me suspects that it is—maybe not every detail, but enough of it.
Titanic is worth it for the set design & special effects—it really is an astonishing thing to look at. But just fast-forward past all the plot & character stuff, which is indeed pretty bad. Maybe pause for Kate Winslet's naughty bits?
I assumed everybody thought of it, but figured someone would have referenced it long before I got here. I love it that you guys didn't let me down.
Now, that IS a fun fact!
MSG? Madison Square Garden?
That's a fair point.
Like Murder on the Orient Express!
I like the way you think, @RedScarab:disqus
Huh. I just thought it looked like some kind of fruit & cream filling—didn't notice dead bird. Lemme go back & freeze-frame it….
Though he seems like the kind of guy who would have a food taster, doesn't he? Shit, I would!
In the book he really makes you think Joff is choking on the pie, but on the show it was pretty obvious that it was the wine, not the pie. What's LESS obvious is who poisoned the cup, & how.
Or is that just what she would WANT us to think?
