Seconded. Allow me to add: Harumph.

Oz never did give nothin' to the Tin Man that he didn't already have.

I doubt it'll be worth even THAT much.

You know what else is like that? John Carpenter's The Thing. I mean, DAMN.

It really is hard to beat for sheer pass-the-popcorn spectacle—such tremendous strides in special effects & great pacing. Not a perfect FILM, no, but a damn near perfect MOVIE.

We saw Jurassic Park at the Uptown Theater in DC—huge, curved screen, kick-ass sound system, the best theater for BIG movies I've ever been to. The scene when the T. Rex shows up, & you see the water in the cup rumble as the footsteps get louder, you could feel that in your chest. I also saw Gladiator there, & the

Yeah, I ate at Guaranteed once or twice, too. Could be I heard it wrong, or I'm just remembering it wrong. I remember having a bean & grain burger at Guaranteed & thinking it wasn't all that great.

I remember it being fun, but I haven't seen it in, well, 20 years. I suspect it doesn't hold up real well.

Also, Erika Eleniak.

This really makes me miss the old Hulk Hogan gimmick account.

That's all I'm saying, @avclub-9af958f62767ff6281b387ad3d5b5e92:disqus.

I figured, though as I understand it he was maybe more involved at the beginning?

I ate there twice—and this was right after the album came out—and neither time did I receive the signature "Automatic!" from the counter folk. The friends I went with? They did. So, what I'm saying is: Serves him right!

I find it hard to believe that someone living in Athens in the late-80s/early-90s would not know how popular R.E.M. was. This was after Document & Green, after all. That said, @TranzX:disqus makes a good point—Weaver D might not have been able to push the price that much higher.

Stipe opened his own place in Athens, The Grit (http://www.thegrit.com/). I tried it, but I like meat too much to enjoy a place serves "traditional Southern meat-and-three without the meat" (iirc how The Flagpole guide described it).

Especially for a restaurant—27 years is really quite rare.

"like a homicidal Anthony Bourdain"

They are so good. So very, very bad, but so good.

ALL internet comment sections are terrible. Except this one. And I mean that sincerely.
