Is F1 like the Olympics? Where the host country and the sanctioning body all pretend that this will result in some economic benefit when in reality costs will outstrip revenue and whatever cash is brought in will be distributed in a wildly unequal fashion? Hell, does any sport that demands subsidies from local

LOL it’s like 10 times as long as the article itself.

Wow. Did you get paid by the word for this comment?

Don't piss Bradley off or he'll grey you...

No need for the attitude - please try acting like the professional you are claiming to be. All those cars have wind deflectors, low seating positions, and bodywork that are exactly what I was talking about with cars designed to run without a windshield. Your render does not include that (or at least not that I can

Exactly, he’s like David Tracy with nicer tastes, except David somehow finishes his projects.

The render omits lines resulting from panel gaps - it makes it look like the entire front end of the car is one piece (minus the bumper). Yours may get the general look, but it is ultimately going to look like a boxster with the windshield chopped off and there’s no way around it. You would have to weld your frunk

Hs saying that because you are building the car in your garage using tools secured from Harbor Freight while the render is a drawing. See the difference? I assume the final weight you quote is without a driver?

I’d argue the problem with your motivation is that you took a working car and have now turned it into a vaguely car shaped object. Your have so many goals planned that you can’t see the end and are feeling a bit overwhelmed. Once that happens it’s hard to actually go out there and work on what was a car and now isn’t

I’d put the likelihood of it looking like that render at approximately 0%, but it is cool that you are trying. Make sure you can pass the broomstick test with whatever rollover protection you have.

It’s never going to happen.

Hopefully the local tracks have safety rules that will allow you to run your vehicle. Even if you’re not building towards a specific ruleset, there are track rules and safety requirements that could keep you from running.

It sounds like an absolute nightmare to tune.

I agree. I wonder how much weight the added roll cage will be versus the framing he’s taking out. If it’s pretty close, leaving the roof and windshield would leave more options for when you can drive it.

I just don’t know enough about them and their reliability to firmly say so.”

At least you’re willing to admit your ignorance. Yes the early implementation of GM’s AFM on their 5.3Ls turned what was a gem of a motor into one that burned oil and wore out lifters and sometimes camshafts by 100k miles.

Its a little of both. The new tech definitely saves a small amount of fuel and when you really open the throttle, you can’t notice it, but I can notice it on every day driving when the truck generally only cruises at 1200-1800rpm. makes it feel a little extra sluggish. To each their own.

Agreed. 1 mpg is probably close to the margin of error of the test cycle. Most people can get more than that by changing their driving style, if so inclined.

if I was someone buying a new pickup, I’d be pissed about missing this module.

Just the thing people have been clamoring for, a single cab short bed compact luxury ev truck

It makes me chuckle whenever I read something like this. Exactly how many people work at this place? Did you do the math only counting the 10 management level employees (10 years experience each) or are we talking the entire workforce, each presumably fresh out of college? WTF does this even mean?!? :D
