I would assume that the majority of victims feel highly threatened by whoever is pulling this scam and want nothing more than to get out of there. I would suggest that if approached hit the “I need help” button at the pump or say that you need the receipt because this is a business car.

If I spent a lot of time driving in very rural areas often or if I was driving 16k+ miles a year or very often had several kids in the car I would get one of the OnStar packages.
