Maybe I’m being Pollyana-ish but I’m less worried about the military. My own experience a million years ago was that most service members were not ultra violent or even ultra patriotic. Most of us chose the service to lift ourselves out of whatever circumstances we had back home. CBP on the other hand is strongly

I’m old (43) but I actually think we all need to stay plugged in until “that moment” happens. There’s going to finally, one day, for sure, be that one big moment where pretty much everyone checks their phones/email/websites/NPR station and the world comes to a stop as we all say “oh fucking BULLSHIT this time” and

I know everyone is tired of hearing about it like we grew tired of zombies and YA vampires and dystopias, but “The Handmaid’s Tale” to me is suddenly like Stormfront is to Nazis and Alex Jones is to imbeciles.

Just another thought: The younger crowd (younger than me, I’m 35 and thus ancient) really could use a pace-yourself or just ‘unplug’ kind of thing. Somebody else said it but paraphrasing “You don’t have to set yourself on fire to keep others warm.” Close enough.

I don’t think he really cares about the travel ban itself BUT since he signed it - he really really wants to show the world he’s the big bad boss and always gets his way. Losing in court just proved to everyone he’s not the big bad boss he thinks he is and that is what is going to keep him up at night. And I LOVE IT!

So simple. So brutal.

It’s mourning in America!

I’m sickened by this new announcement that building the pipeline is the most “environmentally sound” decision. That’s not stretching the truth - it’s the opposite of truth. Reality doesn’t exist anymore.

But these other forms of energy are expensive and how can you say that businesses should risk such capital and possibly go under and lose countless jobs... blah blah blah.

And, you know, it’s totally possible to invest in wind energy in the exact same region, with more benefit to its residents. If there’s one thing North Dakota has more of than oil, it’s wind (also snow, but no one’s learned how to harness the power of blizzards just yet). More seriously, there are a decent number of
