it looks like the admin will claim precedent for their actions based upon Obama travel ban lists? Or something of the sort? What a clusterfuck this is. There are, what, 300 million ppl in the US? 62 mil voted for that asshole, voted knowingly for the absolute worst of America, and this is the result.

Oh I see, sorry I wasn’t more helpful. I wish you luck. :-) I’m not all that far from Canada and “my people” came from NB, so I do love to visit when I can.

Thank you, “Silverlake coven” resulted in my first laugh of the day.

Hmmm. My vote is on Reince in tears. I don’t think Kellyanne can cry. I’m not even sure she’s human.

To be fair, those little pocket ones they have are annotated by someone who is ridiculously wrong about almost everything in the Constitution.

They shouldn’t be the only ones either.

Whoa, fellow traveler! I have read every word (published) that that fucker wrote, both diaries and speeches. I even wrote this long essay about the powers of propaganda, something we should all remain cognizant of despite being in a (formerly) secure democracy. Congrats on getting through that horror. So much evil

Maybe People’s Action? Or the PCCC? I’m on those, fwiw. I think I’m getting the names right ... I get overwhelmed easily, so maybe twitter isn’t for me, but it’s quite frustrating, you know? I just feel really strongly that we all need to step up. I’ve started mentoring some inner city folks with disabilities, they

Wow, the Republicans must be thrilled to see their every dream come true, that pesky stuff about “rule of law” cast aside, along with democracy.

Perhaps the projectionist at the WH could show our homegrown dicktator Cheetolini the lovely film Downfall?

He never should have been elected in the first place. The electoral college is supposed to keep demagogues from being elected, regardless of popular vote (hah). They failed in their task, which should be the last we ever hear of them. I’m so sick of Republicans’ disregard for the law.

It is upsetting. I wanted to go to the Copley Sq protest today (Boston), but didn’t find out in time. I’m trying to figure out ways to more easily access such info, since I think it’s absolutely vital to show up at these things (in addition to whatever else we can do). The bigger the crowd, the harder it is to ignore,

Also, go Boston!

let’s hope there aren’t many 10 yr old girls in the families of WH staff, even if their parents are fucking fascists...

Yes, I do need a phone number. I went through the process of creating an acct just fine, but when I began using it, I was able to retweet one item and then was blocked, with a message saying that I had to give them a phone #. I have a (wifi) texting app I can use on my tablet, but that number was rejected as invalid.

Most deaf folks don’t live alone, so this sort of issue probably doesn’t crop up too often. It’s tough to be ... excluded from things, though, but there’s a lot more to worry about than disability rights these days. Thank you very much for the reply. I spent loads of time on twitter’s webpage trying to find a solution

At the time of writing, there weren’t many people that thought something like that was possible here, put it that way. Remember, at the time, Coughlin and the America Firsters were initially in the ascendent only to crash and burn on their own hubris, all while Nazi Germany was getting going. If only today’s Americans

I have a couple of questions tangentially related — maybe someone can help me out? As a deaf person w/o a phone, I have no way to create a twitter acct, and am wondering how to find local(ish) protests via other sources?

I assume the Sinclair Lewis work is It Can’t Happen Here? Everybody and her dog should read that one, I have to say. Lewis was prescient in predicting that when fascism came to America it would be wrapped in the flag.

You wouldn’t say they need a fig-leaf? I think they need an excuse — it needn’t be much of a one. Historically, well, specific to WWII, the Republicans, many of whom were America Firsters, fought tooth and nail against any behavior that could be construed as helping non-Axis powers. The Democrats did not respond by
