I don’t know if this is the right place to post this, but whenever I see smug politicians (usually older white men) pontificate about the “culture of life” and that sort of thing, I get very angry. What they never seem to say is “if a woman is pregnant, she’s going to have the kid come hell or high water, that’s it.”

I think it was the tease about Carter’s relationship with Reese moving forward and then ... well. I stopped watching for quite a while after that, but during an illness I got caught up. And the show, even without her magic, was tremendous, but man, they screwed the pooch bigtime in season 5. No more Nolan for me since

Jonathan Nolan was the mastermind behind Person of Interest, which was one of the more amazing network shows I’ve ever seen. But the way the show ended — killing off Root, the queer woman who had had a unique redemption arc (and played by the incredibly under-rated Amy Acker, who deserved all the awards), as a plot

My own preference would be for nobody to be carrying a weapon, but my reading of the situation is that the cops approached this kid with no good reason (ie, the kid wasn’t the person they were looking for). I do strongly feel the kid was scared and that’s why he ran. And I can easily assume — sadly all too easily

I didn’t call you racist.

That’s not my assumption either — my assumption is that they exagerrate and claim to be afraid far more often than they actually are, it’s their get out of jail free card. There was footage recently of some cops talking about running a “suspect” down with their car. I seriously doubt they feared for their lives.

I’d sooner believe that the kid was afraid for his life then the cops were, and that that is why he ran in the first place. It’s the presumption of guilt on the part of the police, along with their willingness to escalate any situation, that creates the scenario where this boy felt he had to run. I’m not saying the

Always now, the first thing we hear is the police feared for their lives. These well-armed, presumably well-trained, professionals who, again presumably, chose to go into their profession, are evidently scared out of their minds every second of their shifts.

I’m guessing Tim Burton hasn’t seen Hamilton?
