That’s not my assumption either — my assumption is that they exagerrate and claim to be afraid far more often than they actually are, it’s their get out of jail free card. There was footage recently of some cops talking about running a “suspect” down with their car. I seriously doubt they feared for their lives.
I’d sooner believe that the kid was afraid for his life then the cops were, and that that is why he ran in the first place. Always now, the first thing we hear is the police feared for their lives. These well-armed, presumably well-trained, professionals who, again presumably, chose to go into their profession, are evidently scared out of their minds every second of their shifts.
