While it is true that Caitlyn Jenner transitioned with privileges that far too few trans* enjoy, I think responses like Mr. Smith’s make it pretty clear that transitioning is still an act of bravery.
It can both be true that Caitlyn Jenner is not deserving of the Woman of the Year, and that this guy is an asshole for calling her a man.
He’s checking his privilege?
Thrown in jail? For racial discrimination? Hell yes.
I see why he's your ex!
Why is the white one touching them like that?
I know this is a serious issue of racism but this reminds me so much of my sister’s husband’s ex, who is also a trashy half-wit. My sister showed me a message this dumb bitch put on Facebook; a picture with two men and herself with the caption “Minaj twat tonight, suckaz”
I cried because my husband put a microwave burrito in the oven. It was too crispy. (I was 2 days postpartum and really hungry, though.)
Gawker comments have been getting worse and worse. I scan the news there and hope that Jezebel has posted it so I can come here rather than go there.
Please elaborate on how a non-fluent, not trained in crisis management, teenaged American would helpful in Paris right now?
Nope. You are exactly what this article is about. “If she wasn’t female and wearing something that didn’t cover her disgusting state of femaleness, she wouldn’t have to worry about being attacked for being female.” Nice try but nope, nope, nope. Actually? terrible try. Rethink everything. Even if you’re trolling…
Or we could all get over the fact that women’s bodies exist and are neither “good” nor “bad” but simply are there, doing their own goddamn thing and living in the world.
OR, and hear me out here, a person should be able to post a picture of themselves with their young nieces without experiencing a tsunami of slutshaming. AND acting like it’s a natural and inescapable consequence of being a lady with a body treats the issue like it’s unchangeable. Which it’s not.
I’m a bit flummoxed at a world that can still think a woman’s body belongs to her husband and also has the internet. Like, yes I know there are whackjobs that still think that way? But I still feel like they shouldn’t exist in the same reality as technology.
1) that photo is adorable
