Yeah, it was like PS5 was unavailable or barely available for two years, then two years later is in the end cycle? 

The PS5 barely has a dozen exclusive games. What is the purpose of launching the next console already if they never even properly made use of the PS5? Are they just going to keep supporting the PS4 forever?

We’ve had diminishing returns with consoles for a few generations now. Honestly I could care less if a game looks next gen, I want a console  to justify its existence by offering a gameplay experience that can’t be done on the previous system.

Alright, I get the older generations having a 7-8 year “life-cycle” because tech was rapidly advancing in more groundbreaking ways, but it feels ridiculous for this generation. The problem is that Series and PS5 released a year too soon. If they had waited a year they would have both been able to get hardware DLSS instead of software DLSS patched over top. most games this generation simply don’t have a good use-case for the high speed SSDs that couldn’t be overcome with a longer initial load…

I find it odd how this surprises people.

That’s my feeling about a potential PS5 Pro. The PS4 Pro felt like it made some measure of sense since they seemed to be pushing the limits of the original PS4's hardware. Maybe I’m missing something, but I’m not getting that feeling at all from the PS5 or the Series X.

Yeah, I don’t feel like developers are doing anything that demands a new console. If anything, I could see some “slim” versions of a PS5 and just keeping this console around a while. Totally agree.  I’ve only played 1 PS5 game which was a new release and not an upgrade from the PS4 version I already owned.

I’m fine with it - but that’s largely because I’ve stopped buying consoles (outside Nintendo) since exclusives are increasingly not a thing (at least in regards to PC). From my perspective this just means we’re going to see a jump in game quality sooner, and I’m fine with that.

FF7 is also only exclusive till May. FF16 can be licensed to other things as well and a PC port is probably coming sometime down the line as well.
